Scouts Wales Democracy Challenge Badge

Recently the National Assembly for Wales Outreach Team created resources to coincide with the Scouts Wales Democracy Badge.

These resources were created to help the different sections of Scouts to complete requirements in order to receive their badge.

The resources include many different activities that can be downloaded and printed and ensures that the Scouts complete areas of their Democracy Challenge Badge in a fun and interactive way.
One of the requirements for the Scouts section aged between 10 ½ and 14 years old is to know who their local AMs are and how to contact them. They should arrange to meet one of them to understand how the National Assembly for Wales works and what their particular responsibilities are.

Scouts in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Anglesey, north Wales recently invited one of their local AMs, Rhun Ap Iorwerth AM, along to one of their meetings to ask him a few questions about the National Assembly for Wales and his role as an Assembly Member. They also invited Scouts from Menai Bridge and Beaumaris to be a part of the session as well.

Following on from the resources being created, being published on our website and being distributed to Scout Leaders during a fun day in Builth Wells last summer, some Cub Scouts in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Anglesey, have received their Democracy Challenge Badge.
